Drinking Coffee Can Help You Avoid Erectile Dysfunction Later On In Life!

The study was conducted in the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (USA) and it discovered that the men who consumed 2 – 4 cups of coffee or its equivalent caffeine level in any other drink (like Power Horse and Red Bull) have lesser chances of having erectile dysfunction.

According to the statistics, there are 18.4 percent of men over the age of 20 years that have erectile dysfunction in the United States (where the study was carried out). This equates to more than 18 million Americans that are dealing with erectile dysfunction.

Here are some of the details that I extracted from the study which was published in PLOS ONE:

3,724 men were studied between 2001 and 2004 – they were all over 20 years of age.

The men who drank 1 – 2 cups of coffee per day or the equivalent caffeine amount of 85 – 170 mg in other drinks were 42 percent less likely to have problems with getting or maintaining their erections.

The men who drank 2 – 3 cups of coffee per day or the equivalent caffeine amount of 171 – 303 mg in other drinks were 39 percent less likely to have problems with getting or maintaining their erections.

The control group of the study ware men who did not drink coffee and had a caffeine intake of 0 – 7 mg per day.

The researchers discovered that the benefits were not only experienced by men who were of a healthy weight but men that were overweight, obese and even hypertensive showed the same trend of experiencing less erectile dysfunction issues.

However, men with type-2 diabetes didn’t get the benefits of consuming caffeine – their results were different.

Although the researchers observed a reduction in the occurrence of erectile dysfunction with men who were overweight, obese and hypertensive, the same was NOT true for men that had type-2 diabetes.

The strongest risk factor for the occurrence of erectile dysfunction is type-2 diabetes, so it is not surprising that drinking coffee would not give any benefit to a man that has this disease.
